Summoning skill

Summoning is the skill that only appeared in 2008 and is available only for those players who have paid subscriptions. Each player with the trained summoning skill is able to summon a creature called familiar who will aid the player in battles and in other different situations. It is better to create pouches for your familiars because it will boost the experience gaining for the particular character.

In most cases summoning is used the same as the prayer and it requires certain summoning points to summon a familiar. Even if the creature uses his special abilities you will also lose some summoning points. Unfortunately summoning points do not recharge for themselves and require Summoning Obelisks and special potions to be recharged. The summoning skill has and affect on the overall combat level and it raises the current combat level. It was made to motivate the players to train and use the summoning skill.

In most cases it is recommended to start with the special quest called Wolf Whistle that will help you gain your summoning level to four. Also it’s important to know that there are several types of familiars in Runescape and each of them has its own unique role in the gameplay. If you plan to train the summoning skill it’s important to understand each of these roles and to be able to use them in different situations.
