How to handle tasks: Part II
6 February, 2012
In our previous review we’ve talked about the task system and its role in the game experience of Runescape. The task menu not only gives you the opportunity to see all of the available tasks, you are able to see their difficulty. Also a player is able to see all the available tasks in other areas and there’s a set of different task filters that will allow choosing the appropriate tasks faster.
A player can see the task details through the task list by simply hovering over a task and clicking on it. Be sure to check if there are special requirements for a task and a hint that contains additional information about completing the task. Also you can see the information about the rewards for the task.
If you complete several tasks on one difficulty level you’ll have a chance to receive a special item (like a Magic lamp). To find the tasks on the current location you’ll have to browse your minimap and look for a special tasks icon. When you’ll approach this place find the NPC who will give you this task. And when you complete the task there will be a pop-up icon on your interface that will inform you about that. If you complete 350 tasks or more you’ll be rewarded with a special music track called The Task at Hand and upon completing 482 tasks the player will receive a special emote.
